Congratulations to Prof Margaret Baird who has received the Derrick Rowley Medal for service to the Australasian Society of Immunology. The Derrick Rowley Medal has been awarded since 2005 to individuals who have given outstanding service to the ASI and the Discipline of Immunology over many years. Margaret was recognised for her long support of immunology students and staff and for starting Immunet, NZ's network of immunologists, with Glenn Buchan.
Margaret's work in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology from 1997 until 2011, focussed on dendritic cells. She was a favourite lecturer of many students and a great support to post-graduate research students. Margaret is now a Research Professor in the Department of Pathology.
