Monday 24th February: A Mihi Whakatau/welcome to the Department of Microbiology and Immunology has been held for our new 400-level students. University of Otago Office of Māori Development Kaitohutohu Māori Koro Hatarei Temo and Head of Department Greg Cook warmly welcomed all our new students. E mihi ana!

After hongi and hariru students were provided with kai and the opportunity to mix and mingle with the faculty and staff. A special thank you to our kaumātua Hata Temo as well as the Māori postgraduate students Howard, Essie and Alice for your help. Special mention to Jen Robson and Rachel Hannaway for organization, Alex Mclellan for your guitar and all faculty and staff who were brave enough to sing the waiata. Everyone did a great job! E whakahīhī nei mātou ki a koe.
