Rachel Kaminsky, a PhD student in Sergio Morales' lab, has been awarded the New Zealand Journal of Agricultural Research award for science communication for her outstanding presentation at a conference.

The NZASS (New Zealand Society of Soil Science and Soil Science Australia) conference was held in Queenstown in December.

Rachel gave a talk entitled "Soil pH, land use and soil classification account for changes in prokaryotic communities at a broad geographic scale", and presented a poster which outlined work from her her lab led by fellow PhD student Matthew Highton (who was unable to attend the conference).

Congratulations to both Rachel and Matthew for having their science communication skills and research contributions recognised with this award.
