Current Research
Research in my laboratory focuses on the cellular and molecular physiology of pathogenic and environmental microorganisms. The overall goal of our research is to understand at a cellular and molecular level how microorganisms adapt to different environments. The molecular mechanisms are of interest to us in terms of the fascinating insight they provide into how microorganisms adapt to change and extreme stress, and also in terms of their potential as drug targets in pathogenic microorganisms like Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
