Congratulations to the three researchers who have received funding from the William Sherriff Charitable Trust.

Dr James Ussher has received $30,000 for Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) to investigate and control an ongoing outbreak of Staphyloccoccus capitis in the Dunedin Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Dr Joanna Kirman has received $18,000 for vaccine development for the tuberculosis research programme, and Dr Roslyn Kemp was awarded $10,000 to compare the intestinal immune response in patients with active Crohn's disease vs. Crohn's disease in remission.

The William Sherriff Charitable Trust was settled by Bryan Logan Sherriff, former Microbiology and Immunology department employee, for the funding of departmental research projects that are innovative and will transform science into practical outcomes.
